–specialty mono lines are available such as lo-stretch which is about 12% stretch. this allowes for hook set when jigging. with any specialty line there is a trade off, lo-stretch may give less feel but more hook ups than braid.
–with mono line diameter and stiffness varies for same pound test and depending on the application can be used to advantage.
–if you are going to try a different brand of line, write down the specifications of the line you are currently using, line diameter, how it works best for you etc. then compare these characteristics to the new line.
–you may find you have to use different pound test in the new line to give you the same feel.
–this knowledge can be used to your advantage specialty fishing situations.
