Ivo, I have been using the uni know for 40 years…I used it daily to tie monofilament lines to dacron backing lines and for building flourocarbon stepped leaders. My uni knot crosses the lines in an x with 6″ tail on each side of the bisecting lines. I throw a backwards loop on one side and pass the tail into the opening three times, I flip the lines over and do the same for the other side. I wet the two knots and slide them tightly together, clipping the ends close as possible to the knot, Voila! These are among the finest knots we have in the fishing world. Regards, Bob
